That's extremely low but questions arise. Obviously a 7 year old doesn't own the car, so it's misleading and it's tag so it's being driven. Secondly why isn't it fully insured? It isn't a Camry.

That was the first thing that crossed my mind...insurance?????

I visited the GoFundMe page and saw that the goal was $5K, which they have already exceeded. If they don't have the proper insurance, $5K isn't going to get the job done in getting a 1970 Mach 1 back. Hmmmm

And to add why wasn't it in the garage as if I had a choice between one of the other cars or this one, the 1970 Mach would be in it instead of the 2015 Jeep or what ever late model they might of owned.

Good points. The title is definite clickbait because it makes it sound as if the reason the car being torched was because a handicapped kid "owns" it. Can a 7yr old even legally own a car? They sure as hell can't title it.

In Ohio you can own a car at what ever age, but to insure it and operate it on the roads you need to be 15 1/2 to 16 years of age though. Not sure about Missouri though and their regulations.

Obvious ploy for clicks and to get that gofundme cranking based off the post the parents made. The more I think of this, the more sketchy it becomes.

The first thing that crossed my mind was if your disabled child cherishes a car that much, why is it not in the garage under a cover. My GT500 would never sit outside overnight.
I'm not going to donate to idiots that are too stupid to protect their investment, or something their child cherishes.

Misleading title. Why wouldnt the car be insured?

Sounds like someone trying to make some money from a pitty story.

Sadly enough there will be ass clowns who do offer a donation. If I was giving anything, it would be a nickles worth of free advice.

Wow! Bash the parent because they had a garage sale and left the car out for a night.
Left a classic car out with no insurance. Yet it was tagged, so yes it's on the parents. Guess I'll leave my car outside and remove the insurance, so when it gets stolen, I can set up a gofundme and get rewarded for making bad decisions.

Also already sick of the headlines saying owned by someone with special needs, when the kid doesn't own it.

Damm, quality of SVTP sure has gone down over the years huh?

I'm sure it's not at all expensive having a disabled kid in a wheelchair. Guys really packing it in running some sort of martial arts training club in Springfield Missouri...

Get a ****ing heart. I'm as conservative and skeptical as the next guy but comeon. Little dude in a wheelchair with a straight raw deal gets his prize possession torched by some asshole for kicks and yourre talking about insurance and garage storage.

Dad has a 1969 Mach 1... Guaranteed the insurance would not cover this much repair and the totaled payout would either on his.. just like it says in the gofundme.

God forbid other car enthusiasts come together to make a freaking kid in a wheelchair realize not everyone is a pile of shit.

Clearly the blame is best suited for the car because it must come to live each night like Christine. I'm sure tomorrow morning it will be as good as new so it can prowl the streets for the arsonist.

In all seriousness, if you had an antique or a possession that was priceless, you'd care for it in what I guess would be in an over-protective manner. If you screwed up and somehow led to its demise, would you want others to give you money?

According to the article, he owns it.

Makes perfect sense at age 7 you would have it titled and registered in your name, and also drive it since it was behind other cars. So it obviously runs. Guess the city ignored laws and let the kid register the car...

Exactly. Kid loved the car more than anything, so why not protect it and insure it properly. Why do that when I can instead have others cover my lack of responsibility.

Alright smartass, driving it is not the same as it being titled in his name. Which is legal in a lot of states.
