I recently heard a horror story from ret. The guy isn't on the forums but he told me he had dropped off his 96 cobra to get some work done (ported heads) and some other minor things that equaled about 3k dollars. After the work was done Greg told him to pick it up. He brought the money paid him and took the car well 36 miles from the shop his car started ticking bad so he shut it down and called greg to explain what happened. Greg told him tow it back to the shop and he would check it out, it sat for a few weeks in touched when the customers (won't mention his name) took the car back and asked for a refund since it wasn't getting fixed greg denyied the refund told him to get the car. So customer said he called the bar. At which point he tore off the valve covers and timing cover (the motor to this day is still on a stand at his house I saw it with my own eyes) total chain failure the driver side guide took a shit and the chain broke. Now this was supposed to get a new set of guides and tensioners with the freshly ported heads.... Shit looked old as hell to me. Greg then told him that it wasn't his fault he paid a guy to come in and set the cams up and do the new chains. So the customer called the BAR, a few days later greg called the customer and told him he shouldn't have called the BAR and gave him a bunch of shit about it.

Bottom line he did end up getting half his money back but he was out a motor. I told him that was bs he should've got all of it.

Now I'm sure there are two sides to this story one of which I'm not hearing but the customer seems pretty straight guy and that story was enough to scare me away.

I can post a grip of pics of the damage they did but this thread is not about that its about finding a good reliable tuner that will stand behind their work. If someone wants to call me out on "BS" then I will make a f-ing dedicated thread showing every picture, every email, every txt and signed affidavits from the people that took it apart and found total incompetance and damage. Come on! Say BS one more time! I take that personally as Im a very stand up person and always upfront and honest! Looks at my iTrader rating - 100% and closing in on 100 trades. I wont settle for 50% of my damages. Im want full reimbursement plus other damages and stuff. Greg needs to learn he cant keep doing this to people over and over again. The buck stops here (actually it will be stopped in court)!!!

George, if you really think you need a tune to compensate for the the smaller pulley increased boost, which you probably do, just go to Addiction right off of Canoga/Saticoy. Eddie Rios is the OG when it comes to tuning these cars and is right down the street and stands by his work.

Ill see if Phil (HIGHPSI) will come in and share his own personal Retards horror story as well. Its sad that this dude had to sell his badass one of a kind cobra because they broke his car twice and gave him back a shitty running motor that was smoking when he gave it back to him and also charged him up the ass even though it broke in their hands after they had supposedly fixed it the first time. Cant stand dishonest people.

I was there when Greg had your car on the rollers. Considering your car was towed their and it seemed to me like they where fixing some mechanical problems before throwing it on the dyno, you car was perfectly fine when you drove off with it besides the slipping clutch at WOT. I think Greg did 3-4 pulls making adjustments but your clutch wouldn't hold up. I think $500 for a tune is reasonable, if you have issues the tuner is not at fault for that.

Lol just voicing my experience to help this guy make his decision

Who ever is complaining about prices, sell your car and find a new hobby. Greg has been tuning nmca racers who have been winning or runners up. One of his customers has gone 7.86 @ 186 in a coyote out in vegas.
These threads always turn in to the same thing.
For just a pullied cobra it really wont matter who tunes u. All u want is a safe tune. Goodluck.

Yeah WHO ever is complaining sell your car

From what i can recall Greg told me that he doesnt build engines. He uses someone else. They dont do complete engine assembly. Reason for that is exactly what your talking about, he doesnt want liability. Then also this is the game you picked to be part of. Things go wrong all the time and its easy to blame the tuner. This great nation always has to blame somone. Gunmakers, tuners, ect.
Op just remember theres always TWO sides to a story.

I know exactly who you're talking about , and trust me that is a bogus story. As a matter of fact tell him Bryan said to stop lying and he'll back pedal like no tomorrow.

He doesnt build motors, for this exact reason people always blame the tuner

It doesn't matter if he has someone else do it if the customer pays him. It's your shop so u have to take responsibility If you have someone else do it not the customer. They have a lot of horror story's but I guess they are all just wrong uh?

Yeah that's bullshit if I paid u and u went to someone else to do it for u that's ur ****ing problem. Even if u just recommended them you should at least try to help resolve the issues instead of just blaming them and washing ur hands of it

In this business shit happens, whether your right or wrong and sometimes the company will take a loss. You always gotta take care of the customer especially when it was in your(companies) hands or you were paid to do a job. Thats what defines you as a good or bad place to do business with, how you handle the situation and take responsibility when it is your screw up. If you cant do that just look at what will happen to your reputation.
