Wow, he's fortunate to have you guys work on the car and not someone else.
If that would have happened while on someone else's shop they probably wouldn't have ever thought about that... would have probably taken the whole motor apart to see what is going on... at the customer's expense of course lol.

You might be right. We really want to try and help out Brad as much as we can hes been a loyal customer and has been buying parts for his build for over a year.

This is one of those situations thats not good for anyone really. We wanted this to go smooth for him since he drove 18 hours to get here. But at the end of the day it is what it is. We will get it fixed and hopefully making noise really soon on the dyno.

Yep. I wish there were such coyote-savy shops near where I am, but there aren't. Hell most machine shops around here don't even feel comfortable doing machine work on a mod motor... the main reason i went with an aluminator over building the shortblock the way i wanted it... not to mention down time and everyone gearing up for the race season ... they put you on the back of the list lol.

Eric was it the springs or the way the heads were machined? Just picked up those springs from you and question my Decision. I will check installed height if I use them for sure, but am Curious.

This is why I brought it all the way to Maryland. I knew if there were any issues, JPC crew would take care of it for me. I have to say I am extremely grateful to all the guys up there and especially Justin and Eric for going to extreme lengths to make me happy. I really cant thank them enough. Cant say I ever expected such willingness to help and generosity from everybody like I got. Really says a lot about the guys up there.

Nothing wrong with the springs

Livernois makes a quality product

The issue was was with the heads.

Most of these springs for the coyote engine are setup to be installed at 1.575

We have been checking Brads heads all day and have sizes from 1.560-1.620

Obviously the shorter of the 2 will create more spring pressure and the longer will be less.

Since Brads car is running stock cams and we are going to run a large amount of boost we are actually installing at

1.545 Intake
1.500 Exhaust

This will give us a few more pounds so we know the thing will be setup right!!

if you are going to install your own spring you need to take the proper steps to setting the install height.

we are aiming to have a little more then 100 on the seat closed

Maybe i can put the new power stroke to the test and tow the hulk up there for some fun LOL... I need to find someone 6R80 savy to do the clutches and shaft so that might be the right time lol

I'm meeting up with some friends at the tail of the dragon in the TN/NC border in May, i wonder how far you all are from there.

^ if your head is stock, I do not believe so.
I know the aluminator comes with stock heads, but boss valve springs and there isn't any reports of this issue.

Just wondering cause a friend has the boss valve springs and when it was tuned the tuner said it was loosing power up above 7000 rpm and might be valve float? We thought and wondered how since the springs are stiffer and installed the same height as stock and the heads and cams are stock except the springs.
