S-197 front brake ducts are finally done! Now in a black anodized finish.

Possibly you've seen the unplated prototype version mounted on my car for the Road America event in Fall of '06:

They are constructed out of heavy gauge .090" Aluminum and all components are TIG welded. These are super high efficiency units that are also ultra light weight! The delivered price is $150.00 for the pair in the Continental US via ground service delivery. These ducts will fit ALL iterations of the S-197 line. Mustang GT, Roush, Saleen, V-6, Stick, Automatic. It matters not. One size fits all!

The price is for the ducts only. They bolt onto the spindle utilizing the same bolts that hold the splash shield in place once you remove it. The hose can be purchased either at your local race shop for big bucks or the RV section at Wally World disguised as 3" RV sewer hose. ;-)

If you want high efficiency ducting like me, I suggest taking out the fog lights and going through the openings.

There is a 4" to 3" sheetmetal reducing bushing taped to the front fascia to grab more air. I bought them at the hardware store. Any Home Depot or Lowe's store will have them.

Drop me a PM if you're interested.

Had a chance to check them out when I was back in the US for a few days. They look great - can't wait to get them on.

This is off topic but it could be real important for you...

See how you have your scale platforms positioned? With the wires/plugs facing outward?

You're asking for trouble! One misplaced foot and you're in for a very expensive treat (repair or replacement).

I *always* point my Rebco Scale platform plugs inward, pointing at each other (side to side, not front to rear). Even pointing them front to rear is better than outward but we always liked to be able to slide under the side of the car for underside work so facing them inboard allowed us to access the sides on a creeper.

Hey, just tryin' to save you some bucks!

Phil:

I hear you and I appreciate your concern. But this was just a quick vehicle weigh. I was the only one in the shop at the time.

Normally I have the set up stands at my lift and all wires run to the inside and if any adjustments are made the vehicle is run up on the lift for that.

The scales have survived six years and they were loaned out a couple times as well.

PS Thanks for the brake duct bump! ;-)

The factory lower grill connection point is sort of a 2-1/2" joke. This overweight sow (Yes, I owned one for four years) needs at least a 4" inlet! Once the inlet is set you can reduce it to 3" which is what the duct inlet opening is.

Here are a few pics of the routing I had on my GT500. Here's the hose connected to the duct. The hose fits so tightly, all you need to hold it on is a zip tie:

Here is the hose tied down to the tie rod to keep it moving with the duct and spindle. Also a shot of the hose tied down to the front anti-sway bar:

Although this hose is pretty much out of the way of the tire, whenever you have cooling hoses on at the track you want to be careful how sharp you turn your wheels maneuvering around the paddock.

Here's a pic of the same duct on an '06 Mustang GT.

Here's an inside shot on the Mustang GT once again:

PS Sorry some of the pics are kind of crappy! :(

PS The ducts are now black anodized. Pics shown here are of the unplated prototypes.

Bump for anyone with pics of the duct work attached to the fog opening. I am going to try to install these next Monday now that I'm back.
