That looks really good, but I just don't see the point as noone will see it. Personal satisfaction I guess
Yea, I didnt stud the bearing because I didnt really see a point in doing it. Maybe that was a wrong decision:bash:wow props to you bro, that's exactly what i wanted to do with my irs but i couldn't have her off for more than a weekend. I did the LPW cover, studed the bearings in the diff.
Im 99% Sure u have to take the bushings out if u powdercoat it, with powdercoating you have to bake the powder but if your painting it i dont see why not.
Thanks, I would love them. I am lookig for a reason why I NEED them:burnout:very nice sir. i actually just pm'ed bruce about knuckles/hubs too.
Thanks!:beer:Great progress...nicely done, will look for updates
Thank you!:beer:Looks great Alex!
always happens that way, you always see stuff that u wanna change or go back and re-do. Just be done man, great job. if you're like me though, those little shoulda went back and re-do drive u insane til u do them. even if that means prolonging another project. OCD is always a bad thing right? lol!
Knuckles will be here on tuesday next week. found an irs subframe w/ control arms and almost ready to order bushing kit and diff. components, i also procured a brand new center section. Anybody need a brand new stock cover? i'm ready, i hope i can make it look half as good as yours turned out. Also did u coat brake splash shields also? they look black in pics.
I was at harbor freight and should of bought on.. Might just pick one up to have it for all kinds of things... Live and learn...:burn:I found that a tranny jack is you best friend when doing an IRS. You can tilt it front, back, and side to side. It pretty much makes it a one man job. I thought I had a pic with mine on the jack, but I can't find it.
Very cool, been saying I want to do this for a while but never got around to buying the pieces. One of these days...
