Well I decided to sell my Focus RS and "downgrade" to a FiST. Picked up a '18 with Recaros for a decent price
My payment was $727 a month (42k or something financed) and the RS averaged with my driving 18.4mpg over the 23k I owned it. Took a small bath on depreciation, but I'm looking to save around $5,000+ a year on payments and gas.
Payment is now $399 for the same 60 months without any down. Dealer went from $465 a month all the way to $399 after telling me at first that the deal just wasn't there. Took 3 hours to get to my demand of $399
Seems like every week there is a RS throwing a rod or melting something down. Mine was tuned to 335/400 and was an awesome car. Just expensive to own as a DD and damn did it have a stiff ride haha. My RS got traded in on the OEM rubber at 2.5/32 and needing brake pads as well
Liking the FiST so far. For a new car, not many other options for something so fun to tool around in for $22,000 after rebates haha
I figure if I can save up an extra 15,000 just from a different DD over the next 3 years that will go a long way to being my 2nd house which I would love to do a custom build on
Cliff notes...
It's more fun to drive a slow car fast, than a fast car slow
