I like the ease of install however, I've been told nitrous should be injected AFTER the mass air meter which with this filter it wouldn't. So is this item a good idea or not?

Leave that puppy for the ricers. Nitrous introduced before the maf is a bad idea, as the cold nitrous charge will change the maf's voltage readings and cause potential problems. Would prob. cause an overly rich condition, since the maf would think there is more air coming in than there really is. Load calculations would be off, commanded a/f would be off, timing would be off. In other words, install it just like all the NOS systems say to install it, which is downstream of the maf...
