if you go POR go in light coats as it will run. My 11 has all the track pack items but in 2011 i dont think they called it a track pack but the axle is rust brown as well

From an engineering stand point the surface rust is a better protector of the part than paint. The paint on the underside is good for 5 years at best. Then it flakes off and rusts and looks bad. The surface rust provides an air tight protection against real rust. Lasts forever, saves weight, and money. Look it up surface rust on the rear end is the best protection you can get.

Funny to come across this. I bought a new GT premium on Friday with 6 miles on it. Climb under it at home and realize the rear end looks like it has 60,000 miles.

I thought I got screwed but glad the rest of you did too. :banana:
