i am going with a catted x.... i currently have a MAC cat back... i was considering either the Bassani or the Magnaflow.... is one better than the other? or better yet is there a better catted x-pipe than the ones i mentioned? thanks all...

Do not get a catted Bassani, the cats are total crap and are known for dying.
If you wanted catted, Magnaflow is the ONLY way to go.. however I think you should get a catted h instead

Has anyone documented the HP TQ gains with an aftermarket Catted X and any insights on sound level increases over just the Magnaflow Cat-Back?

the bassani cats that had problems were the old style. The new bullet style cats are made by catco and are some of the best on the market.
Oh just from personal experience, I think the xpipe sounds like "ass"
My xpipe stayed on the car a week then I ordered a MRT H because the sound was... for lack of a better word.. ricey. Sounded good at full throttle, very loud scream, but just driving around town it honestly sounded like a import with a fart can, it was very embarassing.That was the Magnaflow X btw, great pipe, bad sound. The weird thing was I had the same pipe on my GT and it didnt sound nearly as ricey, guess the difference comes from the motor.

My thoughts EXACTLY! I have MAC 3" catback and put on the UPR o/r X last week and I cant wait to get it off. I am getting the MAC H or going back to the STOCKER.
Like he said it sounds badass at WOT but just riding around it sounds so bad that, yaeh its embarassing.
Do Not get an X with the MAC catback! You have been warned!
