[QUOTE="Planter, post: 11558995, member: 101620"] no that's not what I'm saying. I was saying in the future don't get involved with people at work for reasons just like the OP is experiencing. you misunderstood what I said. OP did the right thing in this situation, and I would never keep quiet if I knew something had happened or been happening to a kid. But I don't allow myself to get to know people on that level at work, where they feel like they could divulge something like that to me. I keep everyone at work at double arm's length from my personal life. I have no desire to get dragged into shit that I don't want to be a part of, that could come back to bite me in the ass. People are ****ing two faced, lying, back stabbing shit talkers these days, and office gossip gets a lot of people in trouble. My father got back stabbed once by someone he thought was a "friend" and co-worker, and it cost my dad his job, and those were pretty damn hard times for me and my family because my dad spent months looking for a new job. People at work, aren't your friend. They're there to collect a paycheck, and any chance they get to snuff someone out of their job in the event they feel threatened that you could or might take their position, they will jump on an opportunity to give the boss a reason to get rid of you. work stays at work. personal life stays at home. about the only thing I will talk about at work that's not work related is football or basketball, I don't discuss politics, controversial topics, politicians, crime, taxes, economy or anything about my personal life or family. jobs are hard enough to come by without giving someone where you work at inadvertent ammo to later use against you. exactly, RDJ just jumped to conclusions, but no harm done, just a misunderstanding.
