Wiring an amp using high level input

Trying to utilize the high level inputs on a jl audio jx500/1 to power a 10w3w3. Any drawback/problem with only splicing into one speaker and going parallel to both L/R high level inputs. I have read most people use a line output converter like a lc2i and tap into only one channel for low input signal. I am trying to utilize the high level input and signal sensing on this amp to keep it simple and avoid a LOC.
