Wiper Arms

Anybody taken theirs off? I got a new cowl panel from the g/f for my birthday cuz my old one was broken and before I go out and do it are the arms like a 5.0's with that little lock washer that pulls out and then you can take off the arms? Or do you just pull that little black tab?

Just wanted to make sure before I break something else.

push the tab out, lift the arm off.

Damn it was easy. I can't believe how brittle these things get in 5 years of Florida sun. It broke into about 40 gazillion pieces and I had to vacaum them out of the car.

Now I hopefully won't get that damned whistle above 100 anymore.

You can also move them one notch lower to keep them below line of sight, according to another forum, although I never bothered to try it myself.
