I love me some 1911’s! my .02 with what I’ve had , but question is what is the application any gun that might be on nightstand or defense, imo, should have a magwell and many high end offerings don’t come with them standard, Dan Wesson - imo best for the $, pretty awesome stuff, never owned but have shot many, would take a specialist or valor and not think twice Les Baer - own TRS. Blued finish holding good, but has history that may turn a shade of purple with time. I met Les at Shot show and love that he is a gearhead. Lots of models are branded hemi or Boss, etc, We spent more time talking cars than his guns. I dig them, they are a small company who stays in their lane. He’s an old school guy but very personable, supports the industry well big debate on functional or necessary; but the slide/frame , barrel/bushing fit is tightest I have ever seen. His guns to me are simple, classic, beautiful springfield professional - my favorite. If you are looking for hardcore/duty many will work great but these things are awesome. I have 5k rounds through my pro light railed, the front strap will chew your hand like a cheese grater after 100 res but it shoots lights out and comes right with a nice magwell, nwhile many do not. The no fcs, squared off slide... pro LR is my pick even over some full customs, wilson - have a cqb and cqb LE 2008-10ish builds - great guns , built like tanks and refined, fun to shoot, Wilson name has resale value, more so than the other groups IMO. Just as accurate, reliable, and honestly easier feeling to shoot than springer pro, but I like the pro better
