Will a SCT x3 3000 work on any late model ford?

I'm looking at a used x3 pn3000 but it was last used on a 06 v6 mustang and I have a 14 GT. I plan to order a custom tune any way so will this work? It's unlocked and has locks left

They still use the same PN it should work just fine, just update it.
