I just don't get it. I see ads almost daily on here, other forums, and especially on Ebay for the sale of original parts (typically wheels, exhaust, or superchargers) taken off of a 2013/2014 Shelby GT500 (or any Mustang for that matter) and I can't believe it! Why would anyone in their right mind sell their original parts they removed off their car? Doing so will definitely will not help with your resale/trade-in values! And everyone knows you generally get a lot more for your car, and mod parts, if you return the car to stock and then sell the parts seperately. I know I'm probably in the minority and being overcautious, but at 200 miles I took off the original wheels and tires (because I did not care for them) and put them safely away in storage and then I also swapped out the original floor mats, windshield wipers, oil filter, and air filter. I cleaned up everything and sealed them in bags for safe keeping.
Now it's one thing to part out a totaled vehicle. But IMO if the reason you are selling your original parts is to pay for any mods you probably shouldn't be modding your car in the first place due to probably having a lack of savings.
I'd like to hear others thoughts on this. Also would like to know how many would or would not buy a car (especially a 2013/2014 Shelby GT500) that did not still have the original exhaust, wheels, supercharger, etc.
