It hard to find good new death metal, this album grabbed me first listen. They have two older albums but they're kind of generic. More Insane has parts that remind me of 90's DM bands (mainly Cannibal Corpse) but not so bad that it's like a rip off. There are TONS of bands but few make it on my playlist. More Insane was on loop for a few weeks when I first heard it.
Very true about bands today. A LOT, I mean, A LOT of them sound the same and not so great. I find more new hardcore/metalcore bands that have some good stuff more than the new death metal bands.
We grew up in the best era for metal. The 80's and 90's were the best.

So true about metal today. Most of it's cringe. However...

Awolnation reinvented themselves into a metal band called The Barbarians of California. And they're BAD ASS.

I don't know where they found the angst and energy to reach heights like this at their age and after so much success as Awolnation, but damn. They did.

The whole album is nuts. But here's
a few to intro anyone interested.

Where are the Punks?!?!
Dopamine Prophecy
Bazooka
Three Letters

I don't like Metalcore at all! I'm pretty much a Thrash or DM fan. I was there in the 80's - 90's. I was lucy to see most of the early death metal bands on their early album tours. Here's another that you need to check out. It was my favorite album of 2023, unfortunately the new one they just released is not catchy.

Same here. Seen so many bands.
The good ole days.

Not sure what to call it. Not sure if it metalcore or beatdown?
All I know is that's it's aggressive and has TONS OF BREAKDOWNS!

To me the Undeath is like old school death metal. No slam type parts or clean vocals, I cant handle that stuff.

No clean vocals for me over heavy music either. Hate it.
But, I do love some of the early hair bands. I don't listen to any other type of music besides metal or those early hair band types.

I gotta have the breakdowns though. lol

Back when all the hair band were peaking I hated it! Over the years I've come to like some of it, probably a nostalgia thing. It brings me back to that time.
I agree breakdowns are important! One of my favorite is Kill Zone from Malevolent Creation on the Envenomed album. The first and last half is almost like black metal but that breakdown in the middle is killer! One of Malevolent's best albums.
