I honestly wasn't a fan of the 3.4. The new gen whipples are bad ass. That throttle body looks huge. I wonder how the drivability is.

They were hit or miss I think mostly because of people's lack of ability to build the car to the blower. The 3.4L, 4.0L and 3.6L still have the unmatched power levels that NONE of the other blowers have come close to when correctly built. The problem we have is 99% of the guys that were running these blowers were stock motor, 18psi, and exhaust and wonder why they were not making huge power. There is a setup these blowers are unrivaled on.

I know the 4.0 a lot of people took them off. And they had wild builds. I think jake took his off and went turbo. The guys running 18lbs on a 3.4 was just stupid. I remember when the 3.4 came out and people starting asking can I run it on pump gas 18lbs? lol. The new gen 5's seem to be making the same power as the bigger whipples. I could be wrong but. I just never saw anything crazy with the 4.0 and 3.4. broke7 is trapping 156 mph with the gen4 and his engine build isn't high compression or anything crazy. when the 3.4 came out it never did that. The 4.0 I think doesn't belong on our motors. 5.4 5.8 I get it, but I would never do a 4.0. Id go turbo.

The problem is you need to spin them. 24psi + is were those bigger blowers shine. Anything 20 or under just isnt in there power band.

I'm in the process of putting on a 3.4 Crusher and you BEST believe I'm going 25 - 27 #'s. I'm after 9's with 145 trap times on a stick. I would love to do a comparison of the two for the argument. It would be really cool to see how they stack up at the same boost level.
