Just wondering what the 5.0 coupe ran compared to the cobra.. Never seen any numbers on them. I always heard they were faster than the hatchbacks..

Also which would you rather have a notchback or a cobra. LOL..

Well,I think the cobra is faster because of, GT40 heads, cobra intake,1.6:1 roller rockers,24LB injectors,65mm throttle body,70mm mass air, New camshaft .480 LIFT .270 DURATION,and the crank and water pump pullies are reduced by 12%. I really don't think a stock 5.0 compares. Just my opinion.

I only know that my car ran a 14.34 @ 96 bone stock with the 5spd and 2.73 gears. I am not sure what the Cobra runs, but I would imagine .2's-.0's ??

its close, but the corba takes it..... i have heard there were some late 80s coupes that had 4 cyl interiors (lighter interior, don't ask my why), couple that with the speed density on the 87 and 88 stang, and you might get a low 14 out oif a stock 5 speed coupe with the 3:08 option... (14.3s-up).....the best times i have ever seen from stock 93 cobras was 14.00s.....

The 93 cobra came with 1.7rr's not the 1.6rr's, and the TB is 60mm not 65mm that you mentioned. Not trying to piss you off.
The 93 cobra would easily be faster. It should run 13.50's stock with the free mods of course, with street tires. Why I say this is because my friends 92 gt with the free mods on street tires ran [email protected]. I'm sure the gt40 heads, cobra intake, 24lbs injectors, 1.7rr's, would give the cobra at least 3 tenths.

Ya' know I could of SWORE the TB on the '93's was a 60, but was recently told buy a '93 owner it was a 65mm. Why the hell would you downsize it for the following years Cobras??

Ford claimed there was no gains from the 65mm t/b. I think it was the fact they did not want to tool up or bore the t/b elbows to accept a 65mm t/b.
