What is the difference?
Bigger case, more flow I was told probably 50hp at 800rwhp but who knows.
Thanks...so go with the R vs the regular gen II?
Well, the R produces more power but is more expensive, depends on what you want to do and how much you want to spend.
Worth about 25whp on a 800whp combo.
I'm fine with 700 rwhp..but it looks like the Road is 3299.00 vs 3000 for the gen II?
I meant R
You can find used gen2s for $2500.
Should be around 2000 or lower when the new 2650 is launched
Your more than likely going to need a tune as well. You buy new you save $200 or more on a tune because it comes with the purchase, you buy used you don't. Just something to keep in mind on total cost.
I'm actually gonna have the car towed to my tuner who is a few miles across town and have it dyno tuned
If your going to buy a new VMP blower get the R for a couple hundred more. If for any chance you want to go bigger you'll have a used IIR and probably get a good return. Plus it's just a better design. If your looking to save money buy a used Gen II
No need to do that just for a blower swap. Granted you need a tune, but driving it a few miles should be fine if you stay out of boost.
For 700rwhp, I'd expect a used Trinity 5.8 blower will get you there easily. I'll have my ported/welded stock TVS with matching ported BPS elbow for sale soon and that made 755rwhp (granted, bolt-on 5.8 but not huge difference from 5.4).
If going used, a '13-14 blower should meet your goals.
On the VMP series, I'd expect the Gen 2 to go away when tock runs out, all further will be R case.
Thanks but My tuner said cause im changing out the injectors I shouldnt drive it. As they told me my injectors were maxed out and Ill need a boost a pump as well
Yeah, you will have to have a tune for different injectors.
He means they're maxed out at WOT, not just piddling around driving normally. You can still drive it to them. Just stay out of boost, as in, keep it under 5psi on your way there.
Not a good idea if they're already swapped, which it seems he has/will
Yeah I will be doing blower swap..and I'll be adding 80# injectors and will have to get my car back to the tuner
