I've got an ear of corn (still in the husk) soaking in water. Soon it will go on the grill with a couple of hot dogs and I'll heat up some baked beans. Yumm!
I'm pretty solid on the grill with meat and most veggies but I can never get corn right. What's the purpose of soaking in water first? Never heard of that before

I prefer shucking the corn and throwing it in foil with butter, salt, pepper, garlic, etc. then on the grill.
That's good too!

One thing nice about grilling it in the husk is how easy it is to shuck, especially the silk...it doesn't stick to the cobb and comes off real easy. I use a hot dog bun or the heel from a loaf of bread as the butter holder, roll the cobb in that and then season with garlic salt. Then I eat the buttered bread/bun when I'm done.
