What will the 2018 Dodge SRT Demon beat in a drag race? Cars costing 10 times as much, that's what

That blower was screaming. Definitely inspired by the Terminator.

I'm 50/50 on the fender flares.

Gotta say the Demon is pretty innovating. Nice to see muscle cars spanking some euro-exotics ass. Still don't care for it, though kudos to Dodge.

Love the new dodges and the demon but man is that car ****ing ugly. They took what was a good looking car (the challenger hellcat) and completely screwed it up.

Yes kudos to dodge. It's badass. But comparison to all supercars (not American) isn't really a good comparison. It's in its own class. No one outside of the USA cares about going in a straight line. Those cars are made to be overall fast on a actual racetrack. Either way, it's nice to have a muscle car piss off the Italians, Germans etc.

I realize that's a generalized statement, but for the most part that's what Europeans think

Gonna have to disagree with you there.

Ferrari 812 Superfast?
Bugatti Chiron?
Koenigsegg (any model)?

The European power focus seems to be more on top speed than acceleration, but still, hard to argue that straight line performance isn't a priority.

Just off the top of my head, you also need to look at the number of drag racing teams from Sweeden, Australia, and Quatar. And there are lots of others. Hell, I met a couple of racers from the UK at Frank Hawley's school.

Saying Americans are the only ones who care about drag racing is incredibly myopic.

I can't think of any affordable European cars designed for drag racing. I hardly count Hypercar top speed stuff as that's a negligible percentage of people

Right there with you, but every European manufacturer of a performance car posts 0-60 mph / 0-100 mph times. Not quite a 1/4 mile, but still a straight line.

Yes, I'm absolutely splitting hairs. :)
