Sorry to resurrect, but about to put fresh fluid in the t56 I have from an '03 cobra. When people say RP synchromax, they mean this, yes?
And are any friction modifiers required?

What would you recomend for a 04 Cobra T-56 trans? How many quarts?

Back in the era of the 99, 03 & 04 Mustang Cobras, the go to replacement fluid was GM Synchromesh.
GM changed the part number and possibly the lube, but it was still considered an improvement.
I did replace the trans fluid in my 99 Cobra and was pleased with the improved shifting feel.
I would not hesitate to try the Amsoil, as their products seem to be quality oriented and not how cheap the product can be marketed.
