Reading this thread I feel like I'm at an anonymous meeting LOL. "Hello my name is [insert name], I have a black GT500 and I'm a glutton for punishment." The best advice I can give reinforces Norton's comment. GET THE CAR CERAMIC COATED! OMG what a difference it makes, paint is deeper, glossier, stays cleaner better, is easy to wash and clean. It really is a night and day difference, can't believe I went so many years before doing this. Went the less expensive route and installed myself using Adams ceramic kit. If your willing to do all the work it's really not that expensive to ceramic coat. In a perfect world where my paint isn't all rock chipped from daily driving I would doing a clear protective vinyl and then ceramic coat that.
