Here's my dilemma... I had a bad alignment when I was running 305 35 18 with 3/8 spacer. Car looked good. I just bought new 315 30 18s and put my spacers back on, I really did not think I would need them believing the tires would be wider. Well they do not appear so. For whatever reason the 315 look smaller.... strange! Either way I have them now and wondering if any one has some pictures or in sight as to why this is and which width spacer I should go with .5" or 1". I have 3/8" now. Looking for pictures of 315 30 18 proxy 888 on afs with 1" or .5" spacers thx. Wish I just bought 305 35 again. That won't happen again.

It's your sidewall change that makes it look smaller.
Sometimes tire width differs somewhat from manufacture to manufacture. I remember having a set of Nitto 305's, skinniest 305's I ever saw. My BFG drag rad. 295 was wider. Your 30 shouldn't be as tall (diameter) as the 35. How wide is the wheel? Are you looking to get the wheel closer to the quarter panel? That's what a spacer will do. It just pushes the wheel out.

Tire model and manufacturer..my 315 Falken RT-615K appers to be the same width than my old 295 BFG KDW.
Were you running the spacers with 305 strictly for looks or for clearance purposes?
