I replaced my alternator on Thursday and long story short, I had to replace the power cable going to the battery as well. Originally the stock cable had a 10 gauge fusible link and 6 gauge wire. I replaced the entire thing with 4 gauge wire and an inline fuse holder that has a 100A fuse. Can anyone tell me whether or not this will be enough? I don't believe that for power transfer the original fusible link could have handled over 100amps, but I'm not too sure. The alternator is rated at 135A. I have the shaker 1000 if that makes a difference. Sadly it is a MAXI fuse holder, so if I need to go up I have to go find an ANL fuse holder. I've driven the car yesterday and today without issues, but I never got on it so idk how it will do under load. Thanks!
