I'm building my short block for Turbo using 16cc Mahle pistons and rings and probe rods on stock bore and stroke. What is an ideal ring gap for Plasma Molly rings? Mahle sheet that came with the rings sugested .020 top ring and .024 2nd ring. I've also read suggested .024 top ring and .026 2nd ring for 30psi, but I'll only be running around 13psi or so.
Thanks!

Go look on modfords. There's alot of good info on this subject there. I've spent hours and hours just reading everyones opinions and reasons.

I talked with my tuner...think I'm going to go with the Mahle recomendations that came with the rings. Bore x .0055 for 1st ring and .0065 for 2nd ring. That's the recomended for boosted motors. Ends up being .020 and .024.

A very SOLID recommendation there.

I ended up putting my THIRD engine at .021 on the top ring and .024 on the bottom.

I had an engine with rings at .015 on the top, and had cylinder scoring and tons of blowby as a result. Don't do that, lol.

Anyone want to guess what Ford sets a stock Shelby GT500 ring gap at?
