Forgive me, i am a little behind the curve on Turbo applications, but i'm looking for some assistance. I just purchased a car, Its an 01 Cobra, custom fabbed turbo kit, teksid block, manley rods, carillio pistons, turbo 400, transbrake, 2 step, meth etc. etc. The current turbo on it took a crap (master power T-76) and I'm in the market for a new turbo. I have a budget of around $1100. I know that's not much but that's what I'm working with at the moment. What do you guys Suggest? the car made 790@18lbs on 118 gas from what i have found in the paperwork from the previous owner. I would like to stay at or above that number. I have been looking at Borg Warner turbos. Mainly the S369SXE and the S400SX-4. Do any of the turbo gurus have experience with either? Or maybe have some suggestions on what turbo to run? Its a T-4 flange if anyone plans on posting a link. Thanks everyone in advance.

Love my S369SXE. Haven't dyno'd or had to the track since swapping from a PTE 7675, but it pulls just as hard as that Precision and spools at a lower rpm. I wouldn't expect more than 800-850whp out of it, though.

Do you think the S400SX4 would be a better option?

Can you point me to exactly which S400SX4 you're referring to? I can't find one that is not a T6. The S480 (125 lb/min) and S482 (130 lb/min) would give you more headroom, and you could spool them with that transbrake.

Here is a compressor map which I added the 369 to in order to make my decision. The yellow line should belly out a bit closer to the 100 line, but I'm no MS Paint master. This is also assuming 93 octane pump gas and 8.5:1 compression, so it's conservative compared to yours.

My bad I guess it's the s400sx. Not the sx-4.
