Its actually strange to think what i thought was common but in reality it was not. About a month later i came to the shop with my mom and saw a crate by the car, my dad went ahead and bought a 20k mile 2000 mustang gt motor! I was absolutely pumped. I learned quite a bit swapping that in with my dad and uncle. After we got it running we added a catback and cai. To everyone’s surprise, the car also had 3:73’s. Anyway i ended up buying the car for 8500 as it sat. It had 13k miles and was bone stock. Ended it putting 10k in parts and repair. Long story short it took 6 years to get the car the way i wanted. There are few cars that i see initially that i fall in love with. As in every aspect. The 13-14 GT500 was one of very few. My plan was to always own my 01 and 04 and then eventually get a 13-14. With the funds for these, I basically had plenty to buy a 13-14. The week before i moved my wife ran across a 14 black on matte black 2 owner, exactly 20k mile stock (Corsa and FR intake resonator delete) all options but glass roof in Colorado. The price was extremely low considering this was in the heart or covid. Me being, conservative, i wanted to wait until spring as i was selling my house and changing jobs. My wife is absolutely amazing and essentially forced me to look at the car. I fell in love, gave the guy a deposit and picked it up that weekend. I love everything about the car, to me, the 13-14 is the best of an era. I have driven many high performance cars in my day, from all makes and models, from 400 to my pops 1100 rwhp tt cobra. To me, the 13-14 just does it for me. Can’t explain it. I got to drive a 2020 cftp gt500 in the spring back in MI. Car is amazing. But it just doesn’t give me the thrill of the 13-14. Maybe its the look, or the lack of the third pedal, but i wouldn’t trade my 14. The only other car i must have is a 03-04 again (coupe) and that’s mostly because of nostalgia. Followed by a C6 or maybe C7 Z. When I’m 40.

PS: my wife is definitely a car girl, long story short she has always loved camaros.
I have been around cars my whole life. My dad was really in to them and my uncles. My dad owns a custom paint/fabrication shop so i was constantly around really cool stuff. Pretty much anything you can think of. I have been extremely blessed to be apart/around that. Its actually strange to think what i thought was common but in reality it was not. Blows my mind actually to think of all the cool things/people i was exposed to in racing and all the big high performance names when i was younger. One thing that was a constant, was mustangs. When i was 13, i learned to drive a manual on a our property with a 88 GT that my dad got in a trade. I loved that car and was going to be mine at 16 but it blew a head gasket and a friend ended up buying it. When i was 15, i ended up buying a low mile (9k) 5 speed 1996 Mustang GT that had a blown motor. It was blue with gray cloth interior. Bought it for 5k from an auto auction.
