I’d have to say what motivated me to get my 2013 Shelby was a mixture of things. The First time I saw it on the episode of “Top Gear” when he raced the train in that Deep Impact Blue with Black Racing stripes. I knew at that moment I’d have one someday. Fast forward about 7 years later. My father was diagnosed with stage 4 Lung Cancer. We had always talked about me buying one of those cars. I mentioned I wanted to find a Black coupe with Red Racing Stripes to match his motorcycle. Triumph Rocket III Roadster. I found the perfect match for sale, I was ready to go purchase the car, about 3 hours later I received a phone call that my father had been misdiagnosed and the cancer had spread to his brain. They gave him less than 2 weeks to live. I ended up staying with my father until he took his last breathe. Took me about 3 weeks for things to settle down, I was notified the car was sold to a dealer in North Carolina. I called them the same day, told them I was on my way from Sarasota florida to take her home. It was a bitter sweet moment for me to trade in my 2017 GT that I shared memories with my father in. However he told me to get this car, and I knew he would be proud of me for achieving my goal. It’s now parked next to his motorcycle, and they match perfectly. I’m awaiting my license plate to come in. It will say “FOR POPS”. Sorry for the long story. Hope everyone has a blessed day.
