I noticed this wire hanging down from my rear end housing yesterday. I crawled under the car and noticed this plastic fitting that goes into the rear end is broke off. What does it do? The car is under warranty but I'm just curious.
What is this piece broke on my differential housing?

That is a temp sensor to tell the diff cooler pump to turn on.
That makes sense. I would rather just replace it myself rather than let it sit at a dealer for a week but since the differential is "sweating" a little bit also, I will just take it in.
