That kid is probably in college now, as long as my projects take.:) Anyway, tore it down to the short block. Like many older fox 5.0's, still had a decent amount of original X-hatching. Made a couple of "solid" lifters for figuring out pushrod length, painted them blue so I knew not to use them later on. Grabbed a new set of TW170's and started figuring out valvetrain. This was the best pattern I could get. (6.750" pushrod length) Also made a plate that mounted to head so I could use a dial indicator, see what actual valve lift was vs pushrod length. Was my first time setting up a valvetrain to this extent, and of course I had to over think it. Learned a lot. (like no factory Ford pedestal head in the 5.0 HO era, has anywhere near correct rocker arm geometry). Had the crank polished, machinest claimed it didn't need anymore than that, but had a small groove where the rear main goes. Used one of those thin sleeves that goes over the seal surface. Got a lot of parts painted up and got a front mount intercooler setup and piping done (with PMS blow through MAF). worked pretty good. Wanted everything "stealth", so painted lower IC pipes and IC, satin black.
