Is that due to existing bracing being in the way of the subframe connectors? Or convertible subframe connectors have additional bracing that needs to be welded in. I’ve only driven my car the short drive home from the shop but I could already tell a big difference.I want this done on our 90 convertible. I hear it's more involved with stock bracing on convertibles.
I believe it's because of the existing stock bracing. Maximum Motorsports doesn't have a specific kit for convertibles and says they will work with some modifications. I have a guy that's welded in the ones on my 03 cobra. He is certified on installing roll cages and tubbing rear ends. Does excellent work.Is that due to existing bracing being in the way of the subframe connectors? Or convertible subframe connectors have additional bracing that needs to be welded in. Trust me, I hope to retire somewhere warmer year around someday.I dunno man, I'm allergic to weather under 40 degrees so it would be a no for me dog.
I've been wanting to do that for a couple years now. I don't feel like doing it in the winter months though. I don't know if I trust myself cutting...Get some exhaust pipes, and cut a exit port in your garage door, something like this:
Garage Door Exhaust Ports | Crushproof-Hose.com
Garage door exhaust ports create a sealed pass-through for exhaust hoses and conserving heated/cooled air. Available in rubber and aluminum.www.crushproof-hose.com

Thanks, I've been wanting to do this. Just afraid I'll ruin the door.Hole saw. Super easy, start drilling, get about half way through (making sure the pilot bit makes it through), then go to the other side, use the pilot hole to start drilling from the other side. This will eliminate tear out on the other side if the door is wood, but will also be a cleaner cut, if its a foam core metal door
Practice on some sheetmetal, or wood 1st. If you game to tear the top and front of 5.0, you will be fine. Your over thinking it (something I do all the time). Thanks, I've been wanting to do this. Just afraid I'll ruin the door.
Makes me wanna get a convertible now.We have some heat waves coming through! Started up the convertible yesterday, zero leaks, then changed the oil.
Now just finished re-torquing the lower intake manifold bolts and set timing.
Very pleased, looks much cleaner under the hood.
They kinda a pita.Makes me wanna get a convertible now.
