The pinion seal on my vert had been leaking so I finally got the chance to fix it. Love my Borla Stingers Tip the front end up to help drain the diff As far as I can tell, not too many of us run an LPW cover. But I’ve had mine for years, and it’s been great. Dorman makes a nice kit which includes the seal, a replacement flange, and the nut. It is part #697-507. I like to replace the companion flange when I do a pinion seal because a groove tends to wear into it at the spot where the seal rides. Removed the old flange with a generic 2-jaw puller. I’m a Rotunda/OTC special tool "enthusiast", so whenever possible I like to use the tools that are specified in our factory Ford service manual. The three tools shown in this picture are: 205-126 (T78P-4851-A) flange holding fixture; 205-002 (TOOL-4858-E) flange installer; and 205-208 (T83T-4676-A) pinion oil seal installer. ^An aside note for my fellow technical geeks: our service manual calls out 205-133 (T79P-4676-A) as the seal installation tool for this job. HOWEVER, IT IS INCORRECT!
