I'm just guessing. It was a while ago. I think it was @cj428mach , but I could be wrong.

I've had a couple friends with the crusher set up. It looked like a pain so I went with the standard inlet for that reason.
Nah wasn't me......I'm TVS for life because I don't want the hassles of a non removable inlet. I was actually watching some of Malcolmv8's videos of the red fire 3.0 whipple and asked him if he thought it was worth the switch. He told me absolutely not because working around one is a nightmare.

Ok. I thought you had a Whipple before going VMP.

I ran this set up on my blue car.. I had to clearance the crusher inlet and the pcv port to get it to clear.. I personally think its worth it. It cleans that side up so much. I'll be running a set of these again on my CO, but I'll had the 2.3 TVS so I shouldn't run into any clearance issues this time.

Also this is the 2.9 gen 4 crusher, not the 3.0.....but hopefully this sheds some light

Interesting, so the actually cover is hitting. I plan to weld on a AN fitting. Thanks for the info, i still hope to trade it out for a smaller blower.

I did have a 2.3L whipple for about a year, then when I had to pull it to swap injectors to go E85 I thought this is stupid. After that I bought a 2.3 vmp and never looked back.

Once someone was selling a 2.9 crusher inlet elbow and I thought about buying it to cut up and modify into a removable inlet but I hesitated and it was gone. Thats probably the only way I'd go whipple again.

Judging by the photo, his CO Cobra paint looks really good to begin with. I'm always amazed by how well Terminator owners generally take care of their paint. This one has never been ceramic coated?

this is from a couple pages back but been meaning to respond to this about the comp orange paint. comp orange is very durable... almost like an enamel (i'm guessing - i don't know much about paint).

but when compared to my sonic blue, it's like indestructable lol. below are my two hoods currently. which one looks the worse for wear? the co has 145k and the sb has 95k. looking at them, you'd think it was the other way around.

i am guessing that sonic blue, since it is metallic flake, is more of a laquer or acrylic and therefore thinner and more fragile (?). but either way, i prefer solid paint colors over those with metallic flake and love my comp orange paint.

I thought I read somewhere that sonic was the thinnest paint out of all the colors

I got around to installing the stealthbox today. It cleaned up the trunk quite a bit. And it sounds good. I also swapped in a pair of Memphis Audio 5x7's in the back. They sound so much cleaner than the stockers. Not a bad day.View attachment 1883679View attachment 1883680
Very nice. I wish they would make that kit again. I do however want to install a single sub in mine one day.

I do like that. Do you have any pics of the enclosure before you put it in? Last year I had 2 12's in my trunk and sounded great. I have since moved those subs to home theater duty, and am now exploring sub options for the Cobra again.

Bob, did you install the JL Audio Stealthbox at the rear of the trunk?
Yes. The bump at the passenger side rear of the trunk is the sub.

That's why I jumped on this one when it popped up. It's a nice set up.

Here's the other side of it. I was playing with the gain after installing it and the wife came out to tell me the windows in the house were shaking. It's like high school again.

I've ran into the same situation before. the only thing i can come up with is that one color is a job #1 color and build and the other is a job #2 build and color. I also know first hand from talking to a painter and body man who worked at Dearborn assembly those years that the primer used for the body was an ever changing mix from different distributers and vendors. he even told me that it was normal for them to add a different company's primer (also a different color) to the tanks as they were halfway filled and being actively used with a different primer. This along with air quality factors could Definity explain the variances in quality that we all see on our paint jobs.

I don't have another 03-04 to make a direct comparison, but I feel like my SB is more like your CO. Yeah, it's got its imperfections like any 84k mile car would, but my hood doesn't look anything like yours. My clear seems like it was blended with diamonds cuz no matter what pad/compound/polish combo I use, I can never seem to clean it up any better. Currently playing with a glaze + wax on the trunk lid to see if I can at least "fill in" some of the minor stuff, but I'm beginning to think she's already as good as she's ever going to get short of a respray. It's funny because while I'm working on it, I'm always critical of my results. But a day later when I open the garage door and the sun hits it, I think "boy, she's pretty clean and shiny for an older gal." lol
