Post a pic of those rear meats after you install them. That's a lot of rubber!! Nice rotors, too. What calipers are you using?

I have a pair of Bembo ATS calipers. They are being powder coated next week and the tires are being mounted to the wheels on Friday. If the calipers are done when scheduled and I can get the pads on the rear done, system bled and calipers done on the front then it should be on the ground with the new wheels by the end of next weekend. There’s other stuff to do on the car as well and I don’t have a lot of free time next week so fingers crossed

Made the last minute decision to hit up a cars and coffee. My cousin told me he was going to be there with his Porsche. As I was pulling up the dude in front of the driveway waved me over and invited me to park in the parking lot. I felt bad that I haven't washed it since Vegas. But it was still a hit.

Which rears did you go with ? I was reading there’s a couple different models if your suspension is lowered.
I called them, told them what I was looking for and what springs I already had and that’s what they set me up with. I also had them grooved so if I do coilovers in the rear down the road the shocks will be ready for them.

Installed my MM front coilovers and new SVE wheels. Love the stance so far, set up right in the middle and I’m not looking for that slammed look. I’m looking to keep my long tubes off the asphalt.

I’ll likely have to pull the coilovers off. First test drive there’s a bunch of spring noise I don’t like and they are supposed to be quiet. Not sure if it’s rubbing or just settling. I’m a little underwhelmed so far.

Bilstein Grooved Rear Shock, IRS, Heavy Duty Valving, 1999-04 Cobra

Bilstein Package of 2 struts and 2 grooved shocks: 1999-2004 Cobra (IRS)

That part number appears to be just the rears but I’m not 100%. A quick call or email to them may be best but again, I’m not advertising for MM. My initial calls were great with them….speed to ship out was slow, they shipped without some necessary bushing to install (which I had to overnight across the country from them) and I’m still working out the noise the fronts are making.

I thought I had tightened the top nut, but it was just a little loose. I hit it with an impact, and the noise went away.”

Welp - testing of the Cobra is still In progress. Found a vacuum leak causing my lean code and corrected it - car hasn’t thrown codes since. Took her for some test runs - wasn’t beating on it hard but I’m in the process of doing a coolant system flush so I dropped the thermostat out and am doing the drain and fill over the next few days until I get the gunk out. Beyond that - she’s performing beautifully. Stiegemeier did an awesome job with the blower - on a stock pulley and 30-35% overdrives she’s putting down 12lbs which is where I want to be. She’s got some kick, and I got the dyno run scheduled for some time next week.

Finally glad to be past the problem solving phase of the build and onto the tuning/finessing phase. I think a good wash has been earned once she gets back from the dyno.

I only tightened my top nut with a wrench once it was on the ground. How’d you tighten it with an impact without spinning the strut tube itself? I needed to keep it from spinning with an Allen in the top?

I just want to acknowledge the car that created this 4um and that i miss my 04 silver cobra. I had so much fun with that car. It was not u til i raced a red and black z06 in Texas that i realized The only short coming of the car was weight.

Now this that I’ve owned my grail cars. A white z06 bulit car and an 04 silver fbo car, that I am at a conundrum of what to do next.

Milwaukee impact spun mine fast enough didn’t need to hold it with a Allen
