I have been tire shopping recently, I wanted R888R’s but they seem to be out of stock everywhere with no build date in sight. What is the current best alternative? Looking for 275/35R/18 and either 305/35R/18 or 315/35R /18. This is an SRA car with stock motor, 2.3 Whipple, kooks long tubes. Not likely to ever see the drag strip but may see some highway pulls. Guesstimate is 600 wheel.

Nitto RII’s are awesome
Mickey Thompson ET S/S did good for me.
I’d say R888’s are great for a while, but when they’re done they’re done.

I was thinking about the Nitto’s, glad you like them, probably what is going to happen if I can get them

I haven't tried the 555RII's yet, but I liked the old school 555R's. So I'd imagine the new ones are even better. I'm currently running TQ's in the back and they're decent. They need some heat to hook though.

Friend of mine is running Falkens. I think they're the 615's. They were decent until he hit mid 700's. Now it's a skating rink. And he doesn't drive as aggressive as I do.

You don't like 275/35 up front?

Discount Tire near me has the 305/35-18 R888R, ET Street SS, but the Nitto RII is on backorder.

There is very limited quantities of the R888R available. Nitto does have the NT 01 available as well. (Just an FYI!)

I have had a couple of sets of Falkens, not my favorite tire, hoping for something better.
