I am not entirely sure how it works but I am relatively certain Google has figure out a way to figure out what computer/network you're on based on your phones location. Insane I know but hear me out. And no I don't sport a tin foil hat. Years ago when I started a new career I had ZERO phone signal at work and ZERO wifi. Basically went to work and my only communication was email via a work computer or land line. I have a rather boring career where I accomplished 99% of my job in the first 1-2 hours of the day leaving me with plenty of time to screw around on the net. At this time I NEVER logged into any site be it a forum, PayPal or Amazon, absolutely nothing and did zero online shopping. Things that popped up on YouTube were different between my phone and work computer. Playlist I created on YouTube were also different between the two. I felt I had to be careful what I watched because of who I worked for and with. I intentionally didn't watch certain content on the work computer. After some things went down and some people high up the chain got mad that they couldn't use their cell phones we magically get wifi. I of course connect to it so I can text my wife. One day later the play lists and channels I watch on YouTube but ONLY on my phone start popping up on my work computer. Even a podcast I hadn't been able finish on the way into work that morning showed up on the top row. I also noticed that morning when I checked the news there were Summitt adds on the site for brake rotors I had been looking at 2 days prior on my phone at home. The only way I can figure this happened is because of the addition of wifi at work because like I said I kept things separate and intentionally did not watch certain content at work. To back up this theory I am now again in a new job same field where I have no cell coverage or wifi at work. Back to email or land line for communication and 3 months in my YouTube is different between my phone and work again. I see no adds for stuff I search for or look up on my phone either. If someone has a better explanation I am all ears. As for now I believe we are all being tracked more than we think.
