Went to the Texas mile with a foxbody.

Went with a couple of friends to the Texas mile. One ysi sbe ls3 grandsport and one 1990 mustang gt with a ls 402, ysi, 4l80. Ran into an issue with the car not wanting to go into overdrive at WOT, so that definitely hurt us and weren’t able to fix it that weekend. Pretty happy with how well it did though. I have some video footage trying to upload, but it looks pretty tame to be honest lol

Right now it’s in body shop hell for a while. It has teksid block, forged bottom end, ported 04 heads, custom cams, t56, vortech JT trim, fore fuel system, id1300 , flex fuel and running on Holley hp. Whenever it gets painted, I plan on swapping the interior to black and then breaking in the motor.

I've been to 1 like 10 years . Back in the days when Mullet was running his whipple 2005 Ford GT . How much power does the car make ? 160mph in 1/2 mile seems kind of low for a 402 LS motor with YSI blower .

Makes 890rwhp on pump gas and meth on 12 lbs of boost. Foxbodies aren’t very aero friendly, which isn’t helping, and he is going into overdrive right after the quarter so he had to lift, wait for the car to shift into overdrive and then floor it again which was slowing it down too. The car was basically set up to be a street car that runs the 1/4mile and decided to try it at the mile.

Nice the Texas mile is a goal of mine- been to and ran many half mile events, at 179 and change, maybe next falls race, new engine will be done for spring but will need at least a bolt in 6 point and racing seat and harness to pass tech.

yeah car back halves the qtr at 34+ mph at 150-151. doesn't hit 4th gear till around 156-157(2.73 rear gear) new engine will see 500 more rpm and make a 150-200 more rwhp mathematically car should go 206+ with no head wind lol.
