Got my car back from the body shop today. I had a new Magnaflow X-pipe (cats) and cat back installed 10 days before I was rear-ended. The exhaust was destroyed, so a new one ordered and installed. Same car, same part numbers, both new, the second set is MUCH louder than the first set. WTF?
Not my imagination either. Neighbors noticed, wife noticed, on the first day back at home. The old exhaust only a few hundred miles on it, and it was much quieter then this set. Now I know why some people say the Maggie's are loud, these are.
I like it, and won't change it, but we are confused. Wish I'd had a sound file of the old set, but that's gone forever.
Oh well, if I wanted a sewing machine car, I'd have bought an Accord.
