wastegate springs? boost?

lets talk wastegates, and wastegate springs?

my car made 5 psi off just the wastegates. so does that mean i have 5psi springs in mine? im running dual 44mm tial gates.

my car currently peaked out at 18 psi off the boost controller with the same spring set up.

can some explain how these work, and the best way to adjust or dial these things in to get the disired psi you want?

is it as simple as getting different springs for the gates?
where do i get them?

Yes its simple. Just swap out the springs to the desired boost level. You can get them for 5, 7, 9 12, psi etc. Go right to Tials site or any Tial dealer

I have a 50mm turbosmart gate with the 10lbs. spring and made 8.5psi (wg only) on the dyno

i was told, when i bought the kit that they had 11lb springs in them. guess that wasnt true.

changing the springs doesnt effect how the boost controller works?

right now with my boost controller at lets say 14 psi it would make 14.5ish on the dyno.
15 it made 15.7
at 17 it made 17.8

then when i tryed to bump it to 20 psi it only made 18.2

so if i get a 14lb spring, it should be able to make 23/24psi with no problem off the boost controller?

I see now looking at the tial spring chart that the 5 and 11 psi spring are both blue, one being large and one being small. wonder if they just got them mixed up.

i pulled mine apart today and i have the big red springs in mine which are 10psi springs.
car made 5.8 with wastegate only.

im going to order some different springs tomorrow.

50mm is too big

I run a 44mm tial with no issues
