***Dyno Results on page 4 (Post #96)

I thought I'd start a thread to show the progression on my 03 Cobra... To bring everyone up to speed (who don't already know), i've removed my 2.3L Whipple to make room for the "NEW" VMP TVS 2.3 Blower from Justin at VMP tuning. I've done a few things in between so I thought i' share with everyone.

Here is how the car looked with the 2.3L Whipple...

Whipple removed.... Nothing special.

While I wait for the TVS inlets to come in, I thought it would be a GREAT time to pull the valve covers off and have my buddy paint them DSG. BTW, theres no need to remove the brake booster on the driver side. All you need to do is disconnect the motor mount and jack the motor up. The valve cover comes off nicely. Just don't use the oil pan as a jacking point. (LONG Story :bash:)

I also called up Rob at Chiseled Performance and had him make me a rear mount ice tank. I'll start putting that in today. Living in Florida, the ice tank will help my car a ton!
Rob makes some NICE tanks and the quality is top notch!

I'll update more next week as I'm waiting on the new "next-gen" high boost JLT to show up. Can't wait to get my car back going again!!

The tvs very well may have better performance on 93 pump gas with a dragon sbtb than the 2.9 whipple. I'm not interested in carrying around torco and mixing so my boost level is limited. We shall see. It certainly takes less hp to turn a tvs vs a whipple with your foot off the gas. Having a dd, this is one of my concerns. Also, this is one of the reasons oems went tvs.

I'm hoping very soon. Thats the only thing holding up the build.

No idea why you would go from the whipple to the TVS model?
You'll see.... On 93 pump my whipple made 580RWHP and 530TQ at 18psi... The TVS will make more power and a TON more torque.

Custom sized i/c tank or is it a dimension that is already priced out on the website?
The IC tank is standard 15x15x4 (I think). Talk to Rob from Chiseled and he can make any size you want.

Worked on mounting the chiseled tank today... Got a lot more to do but I'm taking my time... Thanks to Ryan (04Ryan on the board) for hooking me up with the insulation for the tank and some tools/hardware!

I am really thinking about selling my Whipple 2.3 for the TVS really soon and switching over to E85. Any real vices with sticking the coolant tank in the trunk? That thing looks pretty trick.

It will help a TON at the race track. My IAT's were almost getting to 180* at the end of 4th gear. With the ice tank, they should be around 50-60* cooler.

I would have been all over the TVS if it was shipping with EGR included. No way I'm pulling the STB and blower every time I need to smog. :(
