Viking shocks?

I see a lot of cars running Viking shocks, usually with stock struts, on the s197 and s550 stangs.

Whats the main reason they're one of the common mods in terms of brand and need?

I added rear (fronts not available) Vikings to my 2016 as another step to prevent my wheel-hop. Once lowered, the stock shocks are horrible and no longer designed for the load. Once I put 305s on, it became a nightmare.

They are a good shock that is tunable and doesn't break the bank.
