Barry -- Thanks for letting me post this.

New Edge Brothers,

I need your help figuring out a value of my 1999 Cobra. This is not a "for sale" thread, but I do want to know a consensus on current market value of the car. I have no doubt that aftermarket mods are pennies on the dollar when selling, but what is a reasonable selling price? I have a number in my head, but I want some feedback.

Before anyone asks "Why, would the First Family of New Edge sell one of their cars?".... I am in no need to sell the car, just entertaining some options to support my road course habit. If I get serious about it, I will post the car in The Market.

i would definitely say wait 'til the economy pics back up, so you can get closer to what the car is worth. the market just sucks for these cars right now. but you could start advertising it and if the right buyer comes along then your in business!

I hate to say, but it's worth absolutely nothing Kevin.. You should probably just give it to me. :rolling:

Honestly though, as long as you're patient and the right guy comes along, you might see $15-16 for it. Low miles, TONS of mods, car looks spectacular.

Is there a Vette in your future?

sorry this is gonna hurt, but I don't see 15-16k for this car unless you find the absolute correct buyer.

I think you're gonna get low ballers all day long for $10k, and people who just want a nice cobra in the $12-$13k. Therefore, I put your car in the $12,500 range.

Mind you I value mine at $15k.

Valuation sight unseen is tricky but I agree with Quad. The potential for $15 is there if you find the right new edge fanatic but $12,500 is probably what you would get if you wanted to sell fairly soon.

So the question is, what do you want to replace the cobra with?

Thanks for the input, gentlemen. Your opinions are on par with my thoughts.

I would like to see a few more chime in, so feel free to speak up.

The market does suck right now, but it sucks for all cars which is why I am tempted by something else. I have actually been contemplating a change for over a year.

Say it isn't so!!! You can't sell that beast...now what are your New Edge brethren gonna do?? Who we going to cheer for in O/T? What a sweet Cobra. I say try to hold out for $15K -$16K and the right buyer. Might take awhile, but it's nicely sorted for O/T. Try posting over on corner-carvers.com...lot's of Mustang lover's and racers over there that would appreciate a sorted out O/T track car.

Hmmmm...what new track toy could that be? 2010 Shelby perhaps...or... a 2011 with the aluminum block? Then again being a NE guy...lightweight has to be a major factor. Corvette?...FF Cobra?...Fox Body project?...Miata/RX7...with a V8?

Edmunds value for the new edge's is around $9k-12k for a 99 Cobra and 10-13k for a 2001 Cobra. Given your mods and low mileage and a very nice and clean car you might be able to see 11-13k for it. I'd be impressed if you got 14k or more.

Car looks great though

Yeah, I am looking at another platform for open tracking... that or put another 5-7k in the 99 hardtop over the next year in lightweight and suspension parts.

Some of you will be happy that my wife at least doesn't want to sell the Vert (better stated as will not let me sell the vert... not yet anyway).

I would say 12-13k, this is a buyers market, the lower mileadge on your car is one of its better selling points compared to others, but the car has been raced a lot it seems that will steer some away even though it has been built well

I think you could get $15 IF you find the right buyer. I would list it for $15 and be prepared to take no less than $14K. Given your particular situation I see no reason for sacrificing for less if you do not need to sell it.

New suspension parts like the Agent 47 or Griggs SLA? That would be awesome.

If I were to go with another suspension setup, I'd probably choose the Agent 47 pieces. They seem to have some of the best feedback out there right now.

Excellent. I've been tracking the Agent 47 stuff in the open track racing forum. Sounds like the ultimate track setup for getting the most out of the SN95/NE chassis. Will stay tuned.
