I currently have a an I6 car that is basically good to go on interior and exterior. All I really need is to do the suspension and motor swap.

My question is- how many of you have done this, and are there any tips you have for me?

I'm hoping to find a donor car... Can't afford to buy everything brand new at the time being.

Things you will need for the swap:

V8 engine (have fun 351w)
V8 motor mounts
transmission (get something nice)
V8 driveshaft and U-joints
V8(5 lug spindles) w/brakes (lots of options)
min 8" rear end w 5 lug axles w/ brakes
front coil springs
leaf springs
V8 steering center link and hardware (pitman, idler, tie rod ends)
full exhaust
radiator (recommend aluminum cross flow)

When I buy 65/66s I like to get a beat up I6 car. I6 car typically have straight frames too. I'm going to take everything off a car anyways. If it starts life as a V8 car I'm inclined to keep some of it. When I replace things I don't replace with stock. If the upper control arms are good they are the same between I6 and V8.

Other suggested items:
Shelby drop(free mod)
upper ball joints
lower control arm (comes with lower ball joint)
adjustable strut rods
front roller spring perches
roller idler arm kit
poly bushings or anything but rubber, (delrin, aluminum)
new shocks
