Using sct to monitor engine data on lightning

So i visited a tuner for some base line numbers and wanted to buy a SCT TS to monitor things like boost and whatever other data i could get but was told that SCT wouldnt work like that on the lightning since mostly all the data you get isnt digital to the obd2 port.

Question is, what can i use the SCT for than other than holding tunes and reading engine codes?

you would have to run analog inputs to monitor whatever you want through an sct device
