Warning. First world problems.

Ordered 100 each 1 ozt silver buffalo rounds from Costco. If you're a Costco member and interested in buying gold/silver/platinum bullion at below spot prices it's the place to go, but I digress. I ordered my silver on Jan 7th via the Costco website. Costco processed the order and handed it off to UPS on the 8th. They send the precious metal orders via 2nd Day Air free of charge. Package originated in Oklahoma and its final destination is Alabama.

I was just notified my package will be delivered January 15 between 11:45 A.M. - 1:45 P.M. now. A 5-day delay due to bad weather? C'mon man!

Significant weather events across the globe are impacting the UPS network. Although your location may not be impacted by adverse weather, the movement of packages in the network may be impacted by weather conditions in other areas.

Just went through the same shenanigans with the USPS. "Weather." What happened to neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds?

I think they all just wanted some snow days off.

Our Amazon drivers are the best. They'll pull into our compound and always put the package right on the front porch. FedEx and UPS do a good job. USPS....forget about it! Picked up a package in the snow under the mailbox yesterday. Who does that kind of dumb shit? As I started out with. Buying from Amazon will get the product to your door.

Side note: gold, silver and other precious metals, should be secured by a significant amount of lead and brass. Metal diversification!

In their defense, recent adverse weather really has wreaked havoc with the supply chain. I watched some interstate accident videos that look like 1000 acre junkyards. It’s awful.

From what I gather, the addition of foreign born truck drivers has done nothing but snowball the trucking industries troubles. These aliens can’t speak English, can’t drive on ice or in snow, and think they’re driving in downtown Mogadishu.

This time of the year is always tough. I've had several orders that are a week late at this point.

They have no defense.

I delivered food in box trucks from Texas, OK, TN, Arkansas .. etc

Weird.. how it didn’t effect my food deliveries

Sure if the product is coming from way north. But if it’s down south.

Naw

Then dont ever look at tracking for FedEx ground when the weather is perfect (no weather to blame it on). MANY times Ive seen the delivery for a certain day, then look at the detail, and it's still states away.

How much did you pay for each round?
599.99 per 20 rounds. I purchased 100 rounds for $2,999.95. Costco gives me back 2% on all my purchases including precious metals ($60 back for this purchase) and then I use my Visa card which net's me another 1.5% cash back ($45). Costco doesn't charge for shipping/handling/insurance and there's no sales tax on precious metal purchases. Total cost to me cost was $2,894.95 or 28.95 per round. At the time of purchase early on the 7th silver spot price was $29.95 per ozt.

I've had up and down experiences with UPS since 2020. It's not just UPS, thouigh. USPS and FedEx are up and down as well. I've unfortunately had to learn to live with the occasional delays. Complaining gets you nothing but frustration.

Speaking of precious metals, I was in line at Costco this afternoon checking out and the guy in front of me pulled out a wad of $100 bills. He caused an understandable delay for us because his purchase was so high and then he went off to the side to wait for the manager to bring him what he bought. On a hunch, I asked the checkout girl if he had bought 1oz. gold bars and she said, "yep". They're only periodically in stock in the stores. And online.

Ordered some watch links for a new watch I got for Christmas and had the option of $9 ship to home or ship to a ups store for free. I drive right past the store every day so figured what the heck I’ll send them there.

When i showed up to pick them up they charged me a $10 pickup fee. Wtf

Costco stores do receive some bullion occasionally but it usually sells out very quickly and isn't replenished very often. It's much easier to catch it at Costco online. They post new bullion for sale every couple days. Costco's bullion prices don't fluctuate continuously like the big online bullion dealers. If you pay attention to current spot prices and check out their website regularly you can get some pretty good deals. Great way to get into stacking. I just recently started to diversify some of my funds into precious metals. Not looking to get rich, just hedging my bets. ;)

When I buy bullion coins, I tend on sticking with maple leaf, silver eagles, etc..., but any .999 round you can get around spot is fine.
My first purchase was a batch of 2024 silver eagles. I haven't been able to catch those for sale on the Costco website since that first order though. Those go pretty quick as well as the Canadian maple leafs. The one small drawback is Costco limits the amount of precious metal you can purchase per day/per type. When I bought my silver eagles I was limited to 5 rolls of 20 rounds. Same with the buffalos. 1 ozt gold & platinum bullion bars are limited to 5 at a time also. They were selling some 100 gram gold bullion bars for a while too.
