Updating air conditioner?

While the motor is out of the car are there any updates to air conditioning that I should look into?

You can update your hoses to the '01.
Those are more readily available and the final version.
There were revisions from 1996-1999..to the final NA 01 Version..generally starting at the AC compressor manifold(s) and spawning off from the hoses after that.

But if all your stuff is working, I would leave it be.
