1998 Cobra. No tap/rattle on start up. Starts when warm. Mostly between 2 & 3k, under load goes away, deceleration goes away. Mostly heard at cruising rpm and acceleration from a stop going through the gears.

I couldn't hear it real well but what I could hear sounded like it was an exhaust leak or some sort of drone from the exhaust which could explain why it goes away under certain conditions. Worst case scenario you could take it to a reputable shop and they should be able to figure it out.

Rod knock.

Being a stick it’s hard to get motor to coast.

A manual oil pressure gage would show pressure at 0 when knock comes in.

Also being stick. It may be a rattle in bellhousing making an echo sound

Would you not hear rod knock even on startup? Not just at a certain rpm

No knock on startup. Oil pressure never drops. So far I've been told bearings, lash tensioner and exhaust leak. It's hard because the car is so dang loud. I'd rather spend the money addressing the knock before the exhaust.

My last car has a knock.

It’s an 86 olds 442

Trying to hold a steady speed it’s knocks. Deep echo with a tap.

I did lifters and valley pan thinking valve train. Or rattle of pan

But never found it
Car sits in drive way Some day.
