I was very skeptical about this when I forst read it this morning but the more I think about it, the more it could make sense. Trucks engines are not typically state of the art. They have been sohc when the performance cars were Dohc. Trucks were bank injection when the cars were seqential multi port. Trucks tend to hold on to the tried and true. Truck typically have more relaxed emisions standards. I want to get a Raptor and will probably buy one in the next 2 years and one spokesman already said we will see this motor in upper trim levels like Raptor. I wonder if we will see multiple variations like a 4v all aluminum Raptor engine and 2v iron block in the vans and work trucks. Makes me think of the beloved Cleveland motors. One thing to think about on these big motors is alot of reciprocating mass which doesn't rev up as fast kind of like the 460 (7.5L) truck motor so performance might not be a likely path. It all depends on how its designed I suppose but I am really curious to see what come out. We really do need some sort of Hellcat/Demon alternative.
