The S550 is the first chassis built to perform all the way around with an IRS. The coyote was improved drastically from 14-15 (I'll see if I can find the pdf from Ford). Of course the 2020 will be an improvement based on what Ford has been doing across the board.....that's a GOOD thing in my opinion. What they've done to turn around the brand is nothing short of amazing. The S550 was an improvement on all levels over the S197, better looking, handling, performing, better interior, more customizable. It gave us the best mustang ever in the GT350/350R and the GT500 is yet to come. The '17 will now give us the amazing 10 speed auto (wait until you drive one), even more customization and technology and more performance from all engine combos along with the introduction of the ecoboost option. I expect the next redesign to raise the bar even higher. Hell if Trump relaxes the EPA standards like it looks like he will the horsepower wars will continue to rage on for years. As the new car comes out and the S550 becomes and affordable used car it will have the following of any other generation....that's the beauty of a car with such a history, everyone has their favorite generation for one reason or another. I'm not saying it's my favorite but it won't be forgotten, and it was a leap forward from the S197. We should all enjoy this time of ultra-performance ICE powered vehicles because it's going to end at some point. Best time in history (so far) to be a car guy. :)
